Caritas Blogger: Term 3, Week 8

                                               Caritas

Caritas is an organization that raise money for the poor and needy and travel around the world to help. They traveled all over New Zealand, all the Pacific islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Africa, Thailand, India, Afghanistan, and many more places. Last term, the Aroha team did a challenge to help fundraiser for Caritas. We had to create an arcade with that had something to do with Caritas. My teams one was a tap challenge and having to walk to the estuary and collect water with a bucket. The bucket gets VERY heavy when it is full. Kids in Africa have to do that every day.

Caritas is an amazing charity that changes live every day. They are like 'The good Samaritan' parable, Luke 10:25-37. A summery of the story is that a man got robbed and many people that passed him didn't help except one man who was a different to him. He Bandaged him and took him on his donkey to the nearest Inn an took care of him for awhile an gave the Inn keeper some money to help. The people that walked past the injured man weren't very good neighbors but the man that did help was a very good neighbor. Caritas is a lot like the good neighbor and they are showing us what to be like.
