Writing learning

Writing learning

This week I have focused on turning normal sentences into complex sentences. These make great hooks for the beginning paragraph and give lots of info. Here is a few examples. Instead of, he slept well, you could put in a simile like, he slept like a rock. Also, instead of, she couldn't see anything, you could put in a short sentences like, nothing in sight. That is what I've learned today and I hope you've learned something too.

  1. Great info Erin. Complex sentences add more detail. You have talked about a lot of different learning in this post. Perhaps you may talk about one idea at a time. E.g. What is a complex sentence? Then talk about similes and how this adds effect.... Then short sentences. How they add effect in a suspense story. Last of all, post some examples you have done this week!!
